RCHRS asks the government to meet the demands of the university education staff

In the light of the strike headed by the workers of the Palestinian universities to improve their working conditions, RCHRS announces its solidarity with the workers and its support to their just demands. Furthermore, RCHRS insists on the right of the university staff to demand the implementation of a new retirement system and a responsible solution to the rising cost of living.

Suspending Classes in Palestinian Universities

In the light of the student council's announcement to suspend classes for two days as a result of its disagreement with the Ministry of Higher Education on loan mechanisms, Ramallah Center for Human Rights Studies (RCHRS) calls upon all concerned parties (the Ministry, the university administrations and the student councils) to urgently find a solution in order to resume the educational process and guarantee its continuity without any interruptions.

Five workshops on Good Governance and Transparency

In the beginning of February 2010, RCHRS organized five training workshops on the concept of good governance and transparency in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. These workshops were part of the project "Democratic Dialogue in Palestine: Acculturation towards Tolerance" that targeted five youth groups.

RCHRS publishes the fourth annual report on Academic Freedoms in the Palestinian Territories

The Ramallah Center for Human Rights studies (RCHRS) published the fourth annual report on Academic Freedoms in the Palestinian Authority Territories that covers the year 2009.

This publication reflects the RCHRS' general policy of defending academic freedoms and of monitoring all violations of educational rights in the Palestinian territories. This report deals exclusively with the state of academic freedom in Palestinian universities.
